The famous line from the movie Field Of Dreams, "If you build it they will come." Is flipped on it's head by the master builder himself. Instead of an empty field built to draw people, Jesus draws people to himself to build His church! He's the architect, the foreman, we are His laborers in His fields.
Huey Lewis sang "I'm takin' what they're givin', cause I'm workin' for a livin'." All of us can relate at one time or another as he bemoans the necessity of a job. As we celebrate Labor Day, let's remember who we are really working for.
We are at war! There is a battle raging all around us, but victory is ours, Despite the fierceness of our enemies, we serve a God who is greater, who has made us more than conquerors, who has already defeated all who would stand against us. We must arise, put on the whole armor of God and do battle! A battle worth worth fighting, for the stakes are high, they are eternal!
Diversity begets Unity! The church is One Body, many members, each uniquely created and gifted by God. The Exalted Gift Giver, The Conquering King, in His infinite wisdom, has a dynamic within the body that creates unity by requiring inter-dependent service by each uniquely gifted member of the body!
With all the division and strife in the world, and sadly in the church, is it really possible for there to be unity? Christ prayed that His people would be one as He and the Father are one. The more divided the world becomes, the greater the necessity for believers to rise up and live as one!
The world needs to see a church united! United in truth, united in a genuine concern for one another. United, yet diverse! God has uniquely made each of us, uniquely gifted each child of God. It is when we celebrate, and cherish, our uniqueness, and come to together as one, we are able to point a dying world to a Savior that loves them.
It's a dirty word these days! Submission! We live in a time when everyone is screaming about "their" rights. Everyone looking out for #1. Everyone demanding their way. Jesus calls us to a radically different way of living. Mutual submission!
What does it mean for the Church to "BE" the Church? Sure we are to love one another. But what does that look like? How do we as the "church" live in response to a world in the midst of unrest, confusion, and chaos?
What's so important about gathering together? After all watching sermons online is sooooo much more convenient? Is it really that important?
What's our purpose on earth? Why does the church exist? What's our primary purpose? What one thing must we be doing above all else? Worship God? Provide a place of fellowship for Christians? Help each other grow? All of these things to be sure are things we should do, but is that really what it's all about?
We as Americans really take pride in our independence, our rugged individualism, our pull yourself up by our boot straps mentality. But is that what God really intended?
"You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop, the Twilight zone!" Ok, maybe not. But the last few months have almost felt like it. Have we let ourselves slowly slip into another type of zone? We so often allow ourselves to get lulled into a sense of comfort-ability and miss out on the thrill of living by faith! Join us as we examine the comfort zones that so easily entrap us and why we need to break FREE!
God is looking for men who willing to stand in the gap! Men who are willing to stand for the truth, be a hedge of protection for their families, for our country. To represent God to the people and intercede for their nation before God. Our nation needs revival, are we willing to rise up and take a stand before its too late.
We live in a world of civil unrest, division, strife, sickness, hatred, and violence. What is the reason.....more important....what is the answer?
Pleasure, Riches, Success, Accomplishments, Fame, surely someone who has all of these would have contentment, satisfaction, and joy in their life! The richest, wisest man who ever lived had all of the above. Surely that was enough! Or was it?
The story of Naaman the Leper paints a wondrous picture of the story of redemption and the path to forgiveness.

What does it take for change to occur? If Christlikeness is our goal, what is needed for that to happen? In our text we learn Paul's keys to growth and spiritual maturity. In fact these principles can be applied to any area of our life that needs improvement.
